Fusion - RadioActive EPC Global ALE Middleware project

According to the EPC network documentation, the Middleware is responsible for:

• Managing various tag and sensor readers,

• Gathering tag/sensor readings from the readers ,

• Filtering, aggregation and counting of tag data,

• Delivering pre-processed data to EPC-IS and enterprise systems.

Our prototype implementation will be very limited in scope and will not provide complete functionality. It is a testing tool or proof of concept rather than a real, working EPC Middleware.

In the first iteration the only function of the prototype will be to deliver fake tag data to EPC-IS Prototype, have communication with a mock up enterprise application, and receive tag data from RFID hardware simulators. Eventually it can evolve into a full-fledged testing tool.

UPDATE - logicAlloy has an open source middleware application developed, and RadioActive will be working with them to test, build drivers, develop documenation and much more. Please check out their SourceForge site located at: http://sourceforge.net/projects/logicalloy/
